This drive is suitable for novice drivers in all-wheel drive and high range 4WDs. This route is an alternative state for the Donnellys Creek Tour, starting at Seaton instead of Walhalla. It goes over Murderers Hill and passes through a number of historic sites along McEvoys Track. McEvoys Track has a long and rich history, dating back to before 1862. Around this time, a public meeting was held in Sale and a reward of 50 pounds was offered for the discovery of the best track to the Jordan River diggings. Tom McEvoy and Portugee Joe’s Track was deemed to be the best route, commencing at Seaton, climbing the ridge with the Thomson Watershed on the left and the Glenmaggie Creek on the right,…

Getting there

This route is an alternative starting point for the Donnellys Creek Tour. Commencing at the Seaton-Glenmaggie Road intersection with McEvoys Track, head north-west on McEvoys Track. Continue along McEvoys Track and onto Springs Road (same road) to join the Donnellys Creek Tour further on.
