This route from Woods Point to Jamieson, with optional side trips, is dotted with the relics of settlements and mines built post the discovery of gold at Enochs Point in 1857. Settlements were quickly established at Gaffneys Creek, Woods Point, Kevington and Ten Mile. Woods Point was once a thriving township boasting 36 hotels, stores, business offices, police station, churches, medical centres, banks, post office and factories.
