- 4WD · 3 km return · 1–4 hrs · Difficult (Black Diamond)
For 4WDs and drivers with reasonable 4WD experience or 4WD training. This side trip heads up a granite hill to the peak of Mt Stewart, overlooking the clearing at Glenmore in the Buchan River Valley. The 340 hectare Mount Stewart Natural Features and Scenic Reserve carries heathlands growing on shallow rocky soil and includes waterfalls on the Mellick Munjie Creek. The Buchan Valley is home to the Krauatungalung clan of the Gunaikurnai people and holds great culture significance as a traditional meetings place during seasonal migrations.
