The grand old guesthouse on top of Mt Buffalo is waking up after two decades.
Perched on the edge of Mt Buffalo’s granite plateau, the heritage-listed chalet sat closed for around twenty years. It’s now coming back to life in stages: outdoor-education school camps are already running, with a café and, later, heritage accommodation on the way.
Make a day of it — walk out to the lookouts over the Gorge, then cool off at Lake Catani just up the road.
Good to know The café’s opening slipped into October 2026, so check it’s open before you drive up.
