A granite gaol with 140 years of stories — and strong links to the Kelly story.
Built from local granite, the gaol held prisoners from 1864 until it closed in 2004. Guided tours take you through the courtyard, cell blocks and solitary cells.
In Victorian school holidays and on long weekends, family tours let kids aged 6–12 join the prison muster, try on manacles and see replica Kelly Gang armour up close.
Good to know Daily tours run through the day and last about 45 minutes. No pets on tours.
