The Kalatha Giant Tree Walk is a short easy return trail that takes in the magnificent Kalatha Giant. Thought to be over 350 years old, the large Mountain Ash tree is 73m tall with a girth of 16m. This picturesque trail meanders through beautiful tree ferns, Mountain Pepper and wattles and under some spectacular tall trees. Take the time to read the informative interpretation signs, giving you a greater understanding into the history and ecology of the area. Well worth a visit, the Kalatha Giant Tree Walk is located in the heart of Toolangi State Forest Marvel at the majestic Kalatha tree then continue on the looped track to take in the beauty of the Mountain Ash forest.

Getting there
From Healesville, take the Myers Creek road for 13km. Turn right into Sylvia Creek road and continue on this well maintained forest road for 10km. Kalatha road is on your left. Approximately 2kms down Kalatha road you will see the trailhead for the walk and a small car parking area.
