Ralph Cornwall Walk is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, in Noojee.
- Walk · 5 km return · 1 hr · Grade 2.2
A peaceful walk along a well maintained track that follows a 2.5km section of an historic timber tramway once used to haul logs out of the forest. Starting opposite the Noojee DELWP depot in the Day Visitor Area carpark, the walk immediately takes you up close to some old timber tramway relics and interpretative signs. Continue up a gentle incline through beautiful tall forests, where you may see lyrebirds, parrots or even a deer. You will pass through an occasional small gully where a tramway bridge would once have stood, but is now covered in a thick under story of tall ferns enveloping the track. The trail ends at a beautiful spot on the Loch River where there are picnic tables…
No experience required · Formed track · Gentle hills · Occasional steps · Clearly sign posted
Getting there
Head north on Bennett Street from the Noojee township across the bridge over the Latrobe River. Take the left turn immediately after the bridge into McCarthy Spur Road. Follow this road across a second bridge over the Loch River where you will find parking at the picnic ground on your left.
