This drive is suitable for novice drivers in all-wheel drive and high range 4WDs. This half to full day tour (depending on stops) heads from Omeo across the Limestone Road to Gelantipy before descending down into Buchan. This road can be closed due to snow over the winter months but showcases some fabulous areas of the Alpine National Park. This is a great way to cut across from the Omeo Valley to the Buchan Valley and taking in some new sites along the way. The tour begins at Omeo’s Livingstone Creek Park. Getting there
The tour starts at Omeo’s Livingstone Creek Park, heading north on Day Avenue and onto the Omeo Highway. The route is subject to roaming stock and feral horses are widespread and are often seen on the roads so drive with care. Roads subject to frost, ice and snow which may lead to temporary road closures – Chains should be carried during winter.
