Mt Torbreck Summit Track

Walk 14 km S of Eildon

Mt Torbreck Summit Track is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, 14 km S of Eildon.

  • Walk · 4.2 km return · 3 hrs · Grade 4

Mt Torbreck Summit Walk begins from the Barnewall Plains visitor area on Barnewall Plains road rising to an altitude of 1516m. The track climbs in an easterly and then south easterly direction, getting steeper around the area where the predominant trees change from woolly butt to snow gum. The track is fairly well defined and orange metal triangles attached to trees make route finding fairly easy, even in winter when the track is covered in snow. Views from around the summit are breathtaking on a clear day and well worth the long climb. A rock cairn marks the summit location.

Experienced bushwalkers · Rough many obstacles · Very steep · Occasional steps · Limited signage
