Richards Tramline is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, 12 km E of Warburton.

This walk follows an old timber tramline established by William Richard to gain access to the timber in the Starvation Creek valley. The walk starts at the stairs at Big Pats Recreation and Camping Area and first follows Richards Curves Walk to Mississippi Fireline where it continues 9km along the entire tramline length through tall Eucalyptus forests until you reach Brahams Road. Alternatively you can shorten this walk by taking the Richards Tramline Link, this will take you to Mississippi Road. This walking track is one way and can be completed in either direction.

Getting there
From Melbourne head out along the Maroondah Highway to Lilydale. Past Lilydale, head right onto Warburton Highway. Continue the extent of Warburton Highway, through the township of Warburton onto Woods Point Road. Just after you cross the Yarra River about 3km up Wood Point Road take a right turn up Riverside Drive and take your next left up Big Pats Creek Road. Continue along this road through the small settlement of Big Pats Creek until you cross the creek itself, then take your first right just after the bridge up Burns Road.
