The Channel Loop Walking Track is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, 12 km NE of Coongulla.

From the Channel lookout, follow the stairs down to the Avon river. This 2.1km grade 3 walk follows the Avon river through the spectacular channel gorge. The track is part of the extended Avon walking track. The Channel is the centrepiece of the Avon reserve; amagnificent gorge created by the Avon River carving itsway through the silt and sandstone over millennia. Thesteep sides of the gorge are covered in native vegetation,with shady Casuarinas in abundance. Crags punctuate theriverbed, creating a system of pools and rapids thatprovide important habitat for aquatic life.

Getting there
From Maffra take the Maffra-Briagolong Road out of Maffra towards Boisdale. Continue through Boisdale towards Valencia Creek. Turn Left onto Luckman's Road (3km beyond Boisdale) and finally right into Warrigal-Toms Creek Road. From here turn left onto Green Hills Road and then right onto Channel Track. Please note, the nearby Channel Road does not access the Channels carpark.
