Murrindindi River Walk is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, 14 km W of Buxton.

This spectacular 12km walk starts at the Suspension Bridge and follows the Murrindindi River the entire length of the Reserve before concluding at the Cascades. The trail crosses over five footbridges and offers river views through a variety of forest types from tall open forest to damp ferny gullies. This walk is accessible from most of the Murrindindi picnic and camping sites.

Getting there

From Melbourne, travel along the Melba Highway to the intersection of Murrindindi Road just before Devlins Bridge. Turn right and drive on for 10km to the Reserve. The Suspension Bridge picnic area is at the Rangers Station and the start of the Murrindindi Walk is at the metal Suspension Bridge over the Murrindindi River. Alternatively continue 9km along Murrindindi Road to the Cascades picnic area and cross the road to the Cascades Walk to access the Murrindindi Walk over the Cascade bridges.
