Wilhelmina Falls

Walk 12 km W of Buxton

Wilhelmina Falls is a Parks Victoria walk in Victoria’s High Country, 12 km W of Buxton.

  • Walk · 6 km return · 2 hrs · Grade 4

One of the most challenging but beautiful walks in the area, the Wilhelmina track begins at Water Gauge Camp and heads over the suspension bridge along the Murrindindi River Walk, before turning right at the junction. Here the track climbs gradually over rocky steps to the base of the Wilhelmina Falls. These spectacular falls flow all year and drop 75 metres down a steep granite rock face. After relaxing and taking some amazing photos at the base head up the metal stairs over and between the granite boulders to the lookout at the top of the falls. Here there are spectacular views of the surrounding mountain range and Mt Despair.
